Hey! :)
This week was an interesting one. The last week before transfers is always that way. I don´t know why, they just always are. This answers Mom´s question, transfers are this Wednesday. I can pretty much guarantee that I won´t be going anywhere, but there is a good chance that my companion might be leaving. But, in reality, we don´t really know and will be finding out tomorrow night. I´m kind of excited. That´s also how transfers are, exciting. We´ll be getting a new Zone Leader, Elder Rios is going home in like three days. His two years are up.
So, I decided that I am going to do things a little bit backward this week. I am going to respond to the letters first, and then fill in the gaps about my week. Change things up a little bit. Firstly, congratulations to Ryan for his soccer game, Lisa for Spanish competition, and Michael and Lisa for their efforts respectively in track. :) (Michael, you can throw it farther than anybody else, it´s all a mental game ;)) And Michael, you had better win the car... Dad, I understand the never having time problem. (He is referring to teaching Sunday School.) I again had a very long, tangent like conversation with my class. The ´supporting local leaders´ topic became an interesting one. I also found myself backpedaling when we talked about Idolatry. It was interesting.
Now, on to answer the questions that Mom sent me. For my birthday, I went and visited the Pérego family!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pretty much the best thing that could have happened to me for my birthday while on my mission. Pictures were taken, but my batteries died, so I will have them send them to me. We talked, ate cake and fun stuff like that. :) :) The new apartment is good, really fun. Nothing new in that department, no more spiders either, which I guess is a good thing, yeah it is. Oh, and depends, there is a chance that I will be able to go to Iguazu this time around in Posadas. I sure hope so. Weather here is pretty calm right now, we had a couple of really hot days this week, but its alright. As for how cold it gets... no idea. I guess I´ll find out in a couple of months. Hahaha.
Moving on to fun things that have happened this week. Um... Monday was my birthday, we had the party thing, and that was pretty much it for Monday. Tuesday I had divisions with Elder Santos (from Mexico) in my area, we worked really well, nothing other than that exciting about the day. Wednesday, was just a really normal day, nothing to report. Thursday we had visits with President Lopez. It was normal, but then we were making street contacts. And I stopped this one guy, and put out my hand to shake his. He just looked at me and said, what, I haven´t done anything to you. My companion tried to shake his hand, he still hadn´t really moved. Then the guy asked where we were from. I said the United States, and he whacked out. Started saying(yelling) the following:
You kill people all over the world!! American Assassin! American Assassin! Get out of Argentina! Get out of Argentina!
I was kind of shocked, and then amused, so I laughed, and he didn´t like that. So he left yelling. :) That was the exciting this day. Friday was another really normal day. Saturday too, except that we taught this family. We got through the lesson and the woman started talking about her religion. Then her grandson and her started fighting about their religion. All while we watched. Haha. Sunday, was also just a normal day. Nothing special happened. Just that we made a huge lunch together to celebrate Elder Rios´ last Sunday in the mission. That´s really all I´ve got this week. I hope everything is still alright at home! Thanks for the letters!
Love and miss you all!!!! ,
Matthew
