Why hello everyone!
This week has been.... a really hot one. I know I talk alot about the heat, but it has been really hot these last few days. Supposedly it is supposed to rain sometime today or sometime tomorrow, or the next day. But I am still waiting for that moment, and until it rains, I am just stuck with a ton of humidty and sweat. The only good weather moment came this morning when we were playing some sports. We decided to play a more American game today and played American football. It was awesome. Most of the Latino missionaries didn´t really know what was going on and had never played the game before. A couple even tried to stop the passes with their feet. But, for us Americans it was really fun. Even for me, someone who has never been really good at football. I could at least out do some people who had never played the game before.
That sums up most of what we did for Pday today, we went and played football, then went and ate at the restaurant we always eat at, it´s called Pizza Mario. Then we went and got ice cream and now we are writing the families, and then are probably going to go bowling or something like that. Something to celebrate Christmas!!
Speaking of Christmas, I still can´t believe that another Christmas has come and that it is the 2nd one that I will spend in the mission. We get to go and eat dinner with the stake president and his family on Christmas Eve. They invited us over because their son is serving a mission in California, so they are replacing him, with us. It should be a really fun dinner and stuff. The nice thing too is that they live really close to where we live so we won´t have to leave as early to get home on time. President is letting us be out til 11 on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
Alright... what fun things happened this week. Ah yes! One happened on Saturday, we went to help out some of the sisters with a baptism, and when we got to the chapel there was a flood. Someone had left a sink on in the women´s bathroom for a few hours and it had overflowed and gone all over the chapel. Which for the most part wasn´t too bad, most of the floors in the chapel are ceramic tile, so it doesn´t cause many problems. But, the sacrament room, is carpet. And wet carpet isn´t very good. We tried to get as much of the water out as we could, but, it just wasn´t enough. Lets just say that now, a couple days later, it doesn´t smell very good at all.
Another event of the week was that I got a little sick. I´m pretty sure that it was the food at a house we went to, and that that did me bad. I had some stomach problems for a couple of days, and with as hot as it was, it didn´t help. But, I have since recovered and am doing great now, not totally a 100% but almost. :)
Otherwise...we had an interesting moment, we had to live for a couple days with another missionary because of an emergency transfer and stuff like that. So we were running around to the terminal and other such things. It was really time consuming. But we were able to get a lot done in the week all the same. We should still have a baptism this week. We also found a family that we taught on Thursday and on Sunday the whole family came to church, and they all loved it. If all goes well they should be getting baptized in January. They just have to get married first... haha. :)
The zone is doing really well. We are baptizing a bunch these days, and everyone is doing their best.
I gotta run,
I love and miss you,
- Matthew
