Hello everyone!!!
And we have come to that amazing week again, yes the week of Christmas. One of the two times in the year that the missionaries are incredibly excited to call home. Haha. My week was, as is always here in the mission, an interesting one. Transfers were this week, but as you can all tell, I get to stay here another transfer! Wahoo!! Not that that was really unexpected, I did after all come here on an emergency transfer. So, that was that. But, I feel like being the first to spill the beans. I know that Elder Mohlman got transferred, and is in Curuzu Cuatia, the same province as me! So we will be seeing each other at Zone Conferences. As far as I know, his companion is the branch president, should be a fun experience.
But anyway, so we lost a day of work because of transfers. Because the zone leader´s companion left, so we had to stay with him, because, well, he can´t really be alone for the entire day. We did also have the two girls pass their baptismal interviews, which was fun. We spent Thursday night putting the baptismal font together, something that I honestly never thought that I would do, put together a font… Strange still. Then Thursday night was round two of the Bible study class. I taught, and we spent more time on the nature of God, and themes like that. And also began to teach the plan of salvation as it is found in the Bible. We actually are having some people come who aren´t members, so that is really nice. One of these days I´ll have to type up my notes to send them home.
Then Friday, yes Friday was our first baptism here in Goya. It is the first baptism in the branch in a year. It went over really well, just different than the others I have had, in that we had to do almost everything in setting it up. Before we had some more help from the Branch, but that´s alright.
Then, we come to Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was a really normal day, with nothing all that special to report. Sunday morning, was pouring rain, and mud everywhere, with some of the neighborhoods being flooded, which resulted in a very small Church attendance. I got to conduct the meeting. Then, later that afternoon we got to go to a meeting of the Branch Presidencies of the District and work on stuff there. And receive our official callings as part of the Branch Presidency. So that was kind of fun. At this moment, we are just hoping that I don´t die, because our Branch President doesn´t like/doesn´t know how to use MLS; and my companion can´t remember the passwords… Hahaha. And that´s how Sunday night ended.
The only other interesting thing to report on is that a taxi driver friend of ours – nonmember – stopped us in the street the other day, asking if there was a God, cause his younger brother just died…, so we go to teach him tonight.
That´s really all that happened this week, I can´t tell everything, or what are we going to talk about when I call home??
SO, until next time,
Con mucho amor,
Matthew
