Hello to everyone!
Well, here we are again, another week gone by. I´m writing this time from downtown Posadas. It´s been kind of a hectic P-Day. We haven´t really done that much. I haven´t even been with my companion today. He had to go to Resistencia to complete his papers to be able to be a legal citizen here in Argentina. So we had to get up at 1 in the morning to go and drop him off in the bus terminal so that he could travel there, and I am currently in a trio with the zone leaders. Then we went back to the apartment to sleep for a little bit longer and then left again to go send a mini missionary to her area. I may have already explained this, but a mini missionary is just a normal member that serves a really short mission. If the mission is short a missionary or two for a while, stuff like that. But anyway.
Ah, yeah, fun detail from today, it´s been raining like all day and we forgot our umbrellas in the apartment. So it´s kind of been a really wet day. And... no, there really wasn´t anything at all planned for Pday, which may be seen by the fact that we are doing internet later in the day.
This week we made some progress in the branch. There is actually starting to be some fellowshipping among the members that are currently attending. And there is talk about getting together outside of church settings, which is actually quite shocking. The best part about the branch is that the President doesn´t get tired of working. It doesn´t matter how many things can be going wrong in his life, like the lack of money, or a leg with an infection (like he actually has), he just keeps going, and going, like the energizer bunny sometimes. Wow.
My companion is doing really well. Sometimes he still gets really tired at the end of a long day, and who knows how tired he is going to be when he gets back after 10 hours of travelling. But he is just in general a really great guy. Transfers are about two and a half weeks away. I´m pretty sure that I´m not going to get transferred. It´s almost a guarantee that I am going to be here for two transfers with my newbie. Also, the interviews are this Wednesday, nothing too exciting. It should just be a normal interview, just that it will be a little bit longer because he is going to ask me how my companion is progressing as a new missionary.
This week we have a number of exciting things planned. First of which is that we are going to be moving houses, Wednesday or Thursday. It´s been interesting. To help the moving process go faster, we also became volunteer movers to move the man who was living where we are going, out of the house so that we can move it. And also the repainting and stuff, that took up alot of time in the mornings from us. Then later in the week we have a service project planned for a family that is starting to come back to the church. We are going to be doing some gardening!! I´m excited... gardening in the mud. Oh, and no, there really isn´t anything left of the package that you sent me.... what can I say, it was a lot of sweets, and I live with 3 other elders..... haha. :) I finished off the last butterfinger today.
What else is exciting... OH! So we have two baptisms planned out for 29th of May. One of them is the guy that we contacted in the street, our miracle in the making. I´m super excited. He was in church yesterday. We left early to go pick him and another man up to take them there. The other man is the guy that we are going to get married this week. :) The investigators that we have are all going really well. We are having alot of success in the neighborhood Santa Clara itself. So, we are there a lot of time every week these days. Haven´t been to many other neighborhoods recently. But yeah, everything is going well, the work is moving forward here in Santa Clara.
Ah, other fun note, a drunk guy stopped us Saturday night. Started talking to us about just random things, and was drunk enough that his friends, who were drunk as well, noticed and apologized and went away. The man ended by asking us which animal went into Noah´s Ark without a mate. Telling us that that was the big question of life that we need to answer. Strange no?
I think that´s all that I´ve got this week... hmm, well until next time!!!
con mucho amor,
. Matthew
