We had interviews with the misión president again on Friday, it was fun. The interviews aren´t really anything special until you are the senior companion. Other wise he justs asks you how you are doing, if you are being obedient, and questions like that. Then he gives you a time to ask any questions you have been having. Usually during this time it is when you try and have a doctrinal question ready to ask him to extend the interview for a little bit. The more time you are in with president, the less time you have to be out in the sun. Hahaha, how terrible we are. But, no, we work really, really hard. I really like President del Castillo, he´s really hard, and intimidating, but a good man, who does a really good job of making sure we are working in our areas. Another week has come and gone here in the misión field. Nothing overly exciting has happened this week. Just a good solid week of hard work. This week the misión did accomplish it´s goal of 90 baptisms for the month of October. I think we had like 96 or something like that.
But yes, this week. This PDay--today we went to some different waterfalls outside of Jardin America, and spent some time there. We were going to go and visit the Jesuit Ruins, but they decided to start charging a crazy amount of money, so that plan went downhill fast. Last week for Pday we went and played some fooseball and some pool, at the institute building.
The weather is starting to get hotter and hotter. It rains off and on. We had a rain storm this week that soaked us completely to the bone, none of us felt very good the next day. It was terrible. Nighttime, lots of rain. So much fun, not…. To answer your question, my clothes are holding up pretty well. My shirts aren´t exactly as white as they were when I started my misión, but I guess that is to be expected. On another side, and happy note, one of the sisters recently got an automatic washer, and offered to wash the garments, and they came back alot closer to the color white that I´m pretty sure they are supposed to be.
More random business stuff, no I haven´t gotten the Halloween stuff yet, but I´m hoping to get it in just a couple of minutes when we leave to go and get the pedidos, stuff we´ve asked for during the week from the misión office.
The pictures from this weeks adventure will have to wait another week. I´ve resorted to writing my email in Microsoft Word, and then copying it into the email. The cyber we go to is starting to have a good deal of problems, so we may have to look for another one. Oh, the man who baptized Teresa is named Luis, a convert of about six months, and an exevangelical. So, he had been coming with us to the lessons with her.
The lady who wanted to start her own church, we haven´t been able to find. She´s hiding from us, and the thought of potential legal problems. ... haha.
We were able to put two more on baptismal dates with two recent investigators. That was pretty exciting. And tomorrow we have some citas in which we hope to put a few more of them on baptismal dates. If all goes well, we should have six baptisms in November!!!! I´m really excited. It´s really amazing to be teaching someone and be able to follow that progression all the way until baptism. I don´t know if you realize this but, Teresa was the first person I was able to do that with. It was quite the feeling of satisfaction.
One more quick story, last Tuesday we did something called a bomb. All the missionaries in the zone go to one area to help those missionaries look for more new investigators for a few hours. You do companionship exchanges. This time it was in Elder Mohlman´s area. That´s right, you guessed it. We were companions for a few hours. It was really a cool experiences to walk and teach together.
Siblings – thank you for the letters, and Sharon. And Nicole. I hope to get some more emails off next week, and a couple in snail mail.
Well, I must be off, I love and miss you all, and time is starting to fly by. Transfers are in a week and a half. I shouldn´t be leaving, but you never know. Until next week,
Con mucho amor,
Matthew
