Words don´t begin to describe it...

First off, sorry about the delay. The lightning and power outages here are pretty dang incredible. A number of radio towers have been hit by lightning and are out of commission, so we had to leave the internet café we were at and go to another one, and another, and another to find one that had working internet.
As the title of the email said, words can´t really begin to describe the kind of week I have had. As I think I stated last week, Posadas, was a total vacation for me, and now I´m in the thick of what a mission really is. But, I may as well start with the begining of the week. Maybe. But let´s begin. So the week began relatively normal.
And, on another side note, the cards, should hopefully be in Zone Conference, which is tomorrow, that is assuming that the roads are passable in the morning. I´m kind of excited for Zone Conference, and the next interviews with President will be some time after that.
Moving on again, the week.... The days were pretty normal. Trying to balance doing branch finances, trying to find people to baptize, and also trying to find and activate all of the members. First priority is to try and activate those who were once leaders, for example our Elder´s quorum president. It´s a hard balance to try and keep. We are so incredibly tired at the end of each day. The good thing that we are starting to see is that a number of the members are realizing that we are hard working, and trustworthy missionaries, and they are willing to help us out with some stuff. Giving us references, and coming to meet with us. So that was pretty much how my week went, every day trying to find out how to manage all of the things. That´s when two giant curveballs decided to come and interrupt all of our work and progress.
Curveball number one, my companion has been having a number of problems with his health, in particular, his galbladder. It started to give him lots of problems, so what´s the procedure? It gets to be taken out on Friday. Supposedly the surgery isn´t anything that big, and the recovery will be short, I certainly hope so, so that we can keep on working. The thought scares me a little bit. I don´t know if I would be able to deal with having an organ taken out in Goya, Argentina. But the thing is his family is not in a position to pay for the surgery back home in Chile, or they would have sent him home for like 2 or 3 months to do it. SO, it means that it is happening here. Haha. I really hope it all goes over well, and also fast, so that we can focus ourselves on the work again.
Curveball number two - the weather. A little bit about the rain storm and then I will get to answering some of the questions that you have asked me. As I said last week, it rains a lot more than I expected here. It started to rain a little bit again Saturday night, nothing really major. Then we went to sleep. About 1 or 2 in the morning, we were woken up, by lights and sounds. There was constant thunder, loud enough and big enough that the house was shaking. We opened the window a little bit, and the lightning was constant enough that even without power at all in the city, we could see perfectly fine.
We managed to pull 20 people in Church on Sunday. Which is a huge improvement, at least in my opinion. We are slowly making progress. We meet in a house that the Church rents, which was a little flooded. We do have lunch every now and then, apparently inactivity doesn´t mean that we can´t be fed…. Oh well. Haha. I´m kind of running out of time, because, well. I want to get something sent before the internet dies on me again. So, with reluctance : )
Con mucho amor, until next week,
Matthew
PS The living conditions here are a bit lower than what I experienced in Posadas.
